Groom Reaper brand assets

Groom Reaper is explainable backlog prioritization for software teams. It is one product in the suite The Shipyard by Airship Labs. The short name is The Shipyard.

Mark

The mark is a cobalt tile, #1354e8, with a white ring and the upright scythe in the center. White on that tile is #ffffff. The same drawing is the app icon.

The one-color ring, without the tile, is for print and for dark backgrounds. The scythe alone is ink, #13213b.

Usage

Write Groom Reaper as two words, both capitalized. The domain is groomreaper.ai. The name has no trailing period.

Use the mark in product chrome. Use the endorsed lockup when the name and the Airship Labs credit sit together. Use the mono ring when the artwork has to be one color, and the white ring on ink or photography.

• Do keep the ring a full circle and the scythe upright, in the center.
• Do use cobalt for the tile and white for the ring and scythe on that tile.
• Do set the endorsed line as "by Airship Labs".
• Don't stretch, rotate, outline, shadow, or recolor the artwork outside this palette.
• Don't put the scythe outside the ring on the tile.
• Don't add a period after Groom Reaper.
• Don't write the suite name without "The". The public name is The Shipyard by Airship Labs, or The Shipyard after that.

Clear space

Keep clear space of one quarter of the ring's outer width on every side of the mark, the app icon, and every lockup. Do not let type, rules, or other artwork into that margin.

The avatar is already padded. A circular crop of svg/avatar.svg or png/avatar-512.png keeps the whole ring.

Minimum sizes

• Ring mark: 24px wide.
• App icon, with the ring: 32px.
• Wordmark: 80px wide.
• Below 32px, use the 16px favicon, not a scaled-down ring.

Colors

The same values are in tokens.json, tokens.css, and palette.json.

Typography

Space Grotesk 600 is the wordmark. DM Sans 500 is the "by Airship Labs" line, in muted #536179, on the wordmark's left edge. Its size and the gap under the wordmark follow Feature Fountain's endorsed lockup (16px under a 44px name). Bug Beacon uses that same face, weight, and color. DM Sans is the body family named in the tokens.

Kit SVGs have their text converted to outlines. Licenses: licenses/space-grotesk-ofl.txt and licenses/dm-sans-ofl.txt.

The 16px favicon rule

At 16px the ring's stroke is under a pixel and blurs into the tile. svg/favicon.svg, png/app-icon-16.png, and the 16px image inside favicon.ico drop the ring and draw the upright scythe larger, still white on the cobalt tile.

32px and up keep the ring, including the 32px and 48px images inside the ICO and the scalable app icon. Browsers that use svg/app-icon.svg get the ring, because a vector ring stays sharp.

Suite relationship

Groom Reaper sits in The Shipyard by Airship Labs with Bug Beacon and Feature Fountain. The suite's own mark is the full ring drawn in amber, teal, and cobalt. Each product keeps that whole ring in its own color and puts its own glyph in the center.

Groom Reaper's color is cobalt #1354e8. Its glyph is the upright scythe. Adding another product means a new color and a new glyph. These three icons do not change.

Files

App icon sizes are 1024, 512, 192, 180, 64, 32, and 16 in png/. The manifest icons are png/app-icon-192.png, png/app-icon-512.png, and the maskable png/app-icon-maskable-512.png.

Rebuild

The editable ring is brand/src/mark.svg. brand/build.mjs derives the other SVGs and every PNG and ICO, then writes the same kit to brand/ and public/brand/.
